Stress, worry, and overall overwork had begun to weigh down on her back, turning her once black hair completely white running down to her back. Her eyes droop a bit to either side as though she isn't completely all in the moment, as though there is now something constantly on her mind away on all of the events that plague her, but she refuses to let go of. Fear, worry, stuck to her hair, showing the after-effects of it all.
Her finger has holes at the tips that she can open and close at her own will as easy as someone else would wiggle their fingers or clap their hands. The nails on her pointer fingers have been filed down to the finger to avoid them accidentally popping any of the bubbles she blown.
Although in her downtime, she still wears T-Shirts with dumb pictures and words on them, she has gathered a number of very comfortable, scarves, coats, and hats that she wears out more often when going to see someone or go out to hang out with friends. This has also leaked into a newfound cardigan obsession that she isnt quite sure how to stop collecting. Whenever anyone asks her why however, she can only reply with a simple "I just like them."
Whenever she has to work as Class Rep, whether that'd be meetings, talking in front of the class, or even just having to discuss her class with her teacher, Aito puts on her glasses and puts her hair up in a ponytail. No one exactly knows why she does this, but to her, it acts as a confidence booster when she needs it, emulating parts of her childhood friend to try and become more like the ideal she has in her mind.

She tends to think that everything will work out eventually which causes her go with the flow nature. But this is not to be mistaken with the idea that she is blindly optimistic. Aito believes that life will always gives you lemons and they'll keep getting more sour the longer you stick with it. However, she also accepts those lemons and decides to look and the sugary side of things instead. Through this, her beliefs are that humans are naturally evil beings though she doesn't wish to purge such a thing out of humanity because to her "Humans will always hurt other humans. That's just how it is. You just have to make it up to them afterwards."
Though, Aito is very passionate about much of anything; Aito is passionate about U.A and how hard work can turn any bad situation into a good one. Though, she isn't all that worried about the reputation U.A holds, she holds her classmates and the school in high regards and will often defend both of those as long as she can. However for constant rule breakers, Aito can only feel like they're purposely trying to ruin the built reputation and bring everyone who actually tries down with them. Because of this, she has a hard time being completely impartial when someone has broken the rules many times. Her trust runs deep and when it feels betrayed over and over again, she reacts very poorly.
Aito is loyal to the point of a fault. In her words, "Once a friend, always an ally, and someone I'll forever risk my life to save." She holds her friends very close to her heart and no matter how far they drift away, she will always have their back no matter what. Although this could lead to her getting taken advantage of and Aito knows that, she refuses to shut those she once counted as a friend out of her life. Some may say this is a conscious self-destructive decision, but even with her accepting that it's probably the case, Aito can't bring herself to completely cut the toxic beings in her life out.
Because of her method of training of pointing out all of her faults and immediately trying to improve on them, Aito has a tendency to beat herself up over situations that should have otherwise been out of her control. Thoughts about "What ifs" and "What she should have done" haunts her, making it even worse for her if she ends up making the same "mistake" again. However, because each scenario sticks in her mind, she is ready for almost anything that the world can throw at her because she has already made not on what she has to do from here on out. If she could've done something to prevent something in the past then those things will stick with her forever.
Like the rest of her family, Aito handles stress very poorly. Between drowning herself in work all night to taking on tasks she doesn't fully have time for, she tends to handle all things with a seriousness and worry that if she can pull of this, then maybe someone will benefit from it and that's worth any sleepless night she may have in the long run. Although she tends to break down by EMOTIONALLY draining situations like friends leaving or her parents bugging her, with PHYSICALLY draining situation she has no problem pulling them off no matter what her mental state may seem to be.
Although Aito pulls almost all of the self-destructive habits herself, she is a hypocrite and won't let anyone fall into her own trap if she can help it. Whether that'd be dragging them out with her to take a break or taking their work for herself and letting them just enjoy the company of others, she doesn't care as long as everyone else around her is happy. Because she doesn't think of her happiness as important, she tends to get all of her happiness from seeing others be able to live their lives like normal, not completely stressed people. That alone is enough to make her day.
Aito has a hoarding problem. When she decides she likes something, she decides she needs all different kinds of that one thing. Whether that be strange/dumb T-Shirts to comfortable cardigans to an ungodly amount of mugs, Aito loves collecting all of them. Of course, some may say that would be a problem with all of her pets getting in the way, Aito has tricks to keep them away and her collection safe.
Due to it being her childhood friend's favorite food, Aito can't stand lemons. Whether it's Lemon Flavored candy or Lemonade or even just Lemon related things, she dislikes them. Not because of the flavor, but mostly because of the memories that comes with them. As someone who refuses to show weakness no matter what, Aito refuses to eat anything lemon related so no one has to see her upset over something that seems trivial.
HISTORY
She was born from her dad with a Sticky quirk and her mom with a water manipulation quirk. This resulted in her bubbles. Her quirk first manifested while she was playing tag with some friends and she was it. When she discovered it, she tried to come up with some sort of useful way to use it, but found nothing. She would have given up on her dream right there entirely if not for her childhood friend Keiara Mori who encouraged her to keep trying, believing that anyone could be a hero.
It was Keiara who kept her dream alive during that time; a long term friend whom Aito will never get over completely....
It was during spring on the entrance ceremony of first grade. Through Kindergarten, everyone had figured out all of their friend groups, cliques that seemed unbreakable like all childhood friendships did. Then there was Aito Betoyama. Now Aito was a strange child that none of the kids really wanted to get to know. She was quiet to an almost eerie degree, focused on seemingly random thing or staring off into space and talking to herself as though someone was there. No matter how it was, the other kids agreed that it was probably best to keep their distance from her....well all but one girl. Keiara Mori was also very strange, but not in the way Aito was so frustratingly disconnected. Keiara's neat and orderly hair was always made up just so; her outfits seemingly carefully picked out each and everyday. Most intriguingly, her smile and laugh seemed to bright up an entire room. She was like a magnet and everyone else was pieces of metal, pulling themselves towards her charismatic atBreakude and soaking it up like a sponge.
Whoever talked to Keiara seemed to be brought into her world, no matter what she said, her ideas and feelings all seemed so intriguing.... she was the idol of the classroom, always smiling and reassuring others. So in that way, there was no surprise that even the strangest of children seemed to connect themselves to her...that included the strange Aito Betoyama. How peculiar was the pairing, it was almost completely foreign to the other kids. Nevertheless, the two of them was thick of thieves, you could never get close without getting to know the other. No matter what anyone else would say to Keiara, she refused to cut her strange best friend out. They were best friends after all...and best friends stick together.
But then second grade rolled around and the other girls were done with having to be friends with someone they didn't think was cool enough and confronted Keiara about it. Although Keiara resisted leaving her friend and fought back against it, the other girls started twisting the knife in Keiara's back, widdling down her confidence a little at a time; unseen and unnoticeable to anyone not looking for it. Eventually, it started to become more apparent as Keiara started to stop hanging out with her old friends and more and more with Aito. Aito didn't know why, but she enjoyed the time they had together.
Playing tag in the clearing, eating lemon candy from the nearby shops, talking about what type of heroes they'll be in the future...just two friends enjoying each other's company...but all things come to an end...and there was one thing that broke the camel's back.
Aito and Keiara were looking at ladybugs when a boy just one grade lower them scrapped his knee while running on the track. Before the pair could run up and help him, one of the upperclassmen came over and demonstrated his quirk to close up wounds. It was fascinating to Aito...but a wake up call to Keiara. With her quirk, for the first time, she felt as though she truly couldn't save anyone. She felt for the first time in her life that she couldn't become a hero just because she tried.
“W-What are you doing?” Aito called out. The roof rushed with the cold winter wind on top of the elementary school. The familiar backside of her friend stood out on the other side of the fence. She didn’t look back at Aito, staring out to the courtyard as though counting the other kids like ants. Aito took a step towards the fence. “W-We’re not supposed to be up here…”
“Aicchan...do you want to be a hero?” Her friend asked in a melancholic tone. Aito stopped, flinching at the words. As she turned to face Aito, a sense of dread seemed the fill the child.
“Of course….y-you know that...Kei-chan...” Keiara narrowed her eyes at Aito, making her jump a little. This wasn’t like her. I don’t understand. Her head spun with thoughts she couldn't understand.
“Give up on that.” Her friend’s voiced called out in a matter of fact tone. She looked back towards the field, counting the students as though they were nothing more than dolls. Keiara’s voice called out again. “You see those people? Those are the people with quirks that can do something. They can breathe fire. They can turn invisible. They have quirks...that can help people.”
“T-That...doesn’t mean we can’t...try…”
Keiara laughed as though Aito had just said the funniest joke she had her in a long time. Aito tensed up, taking a step forward, but the wind pushing her back. Keiara spoke again, her words hitting Aito like ice. “You really think you can save anyone?”
“Yes!” Aito shouted back, her voice trembling.
“...Then save me.” Keiara jumped off the building the flaps of her jacket being the only think left in sight. Aito ran forward slipping and stumbling towards the fence. No no no no no...She reached for her...only to watch as she slowly tumbled to the ground.
You can’t save anyone.

Keiara Mori died that day, every memory and regret burning itself for the first time in Aito's mind.
Her classmates started to distance themselves from Aito, making her voice mean less and less as the rumors began to spread all around the school that she pushed her best friend off the roof...that she killed Keiara Mori. Of course Aito knew that wasn't the case...she saw what happened, but eventually, in a way she began to think that Keiara's death was her fault. Like if she just would've run a little faster, she would've been saved her best friend. Aito took Keiara's word to heart "You can't save anyone"...and she finally gave up on her dream of becoming a hero.
Her life began to fall into a routine. Go to school, don't talk to anyone. Walk around Musutafu for hours then go home late. Go to therapy sessions on Fridays that never seem to really work no matter how many times they went through them. She distracted herself from the loneliness and hurt by sitting at the field she used to play in with Keiara and blow bubbles; watching them aimlessly float into the sky. It was 10 years of this until something would finally lift her away from all of it.
Aito laid her head on her desk. The mindless excitable noise buzzed throughout the classroom, different ideas bouncing around throughout the room. The teacher was at her desk, grumbling something under her breath as the ideas slowly got more and more outlandish. Aito turned her head towards the window, the clouds wisping away from each other and swirling around like sugar in a cotton candy machine. Cotton candy….would be nice…. With that thought in mind, she drifted off to sleep.
When she woke up, everyone was hustling about; drawing up signs and chatting about the latest gossip around. Aito stretched upwards to the sky, leaning backwards in her chair until she fell over with an audible clatter. She blinked for a couple seconds with a perplexed look on her face.Tilting her head she seemed to try and recount the events that lead her to this point though ultimately shrugging it off. Aito pulled herself back up and righted her chair to its proper position. With a solid affirmative nod, she picks up her bag and heads of the classroom.
The halls were full of students, shouting things at each other with a restless energy as they ran through, paint buckets and planks of wood. Aito became walking past, keeping rhythm with an invisible song that seemed to make no sense. The classroom were packed with the same upbeat, busy spirit, everyone seeming to be preoccupying themselves with something. Class Reps are calling out orders in every room on what needs to get done. Some of the people with more fast and mobile quirks were running through the halls like hurricanes- lists in hand.
Aito’s pace didn’t waver as she bounded down the stairs, almost tripping on the last couple of steps as she turned the corner. Unlike the inside, the outside of the school was deathly quiet. The rain pounded on the roof like giant elephants and the sky was cloaked in a grey darkness. Aw...but it was so sunny earlier….Aito pouted a little while she began to ponder to herself. I should’ve brought an umbrella. You always gotta listen to that weatherman after all….She nodded to herself as she scolded her own lack of foresight.
A few minutes passed, Aito staring at the rain with a displeased expression. She stretches her hand to touch the drops. They felt as though they were tiny water balloons falling from the sky at top speed onto they’re victims. Aito tilted her head back and forth before giving an affirmative smile and rushing out into the rain. She twirled to face the school, water splashing around her. Her uniform felt drenched heavy and her black hair clinged to her back as she splashed around.
With a deep breath, she began toward the gate. Rustle...rustle Aito stops turning her attention to a nearby bush. She stares at it for awhile, watching the rain pour down against the leaves and onto the ground. Rustle, Rustle. Tilting her head, she starts stepping closer to the bush, tiptoeing quietly. Is...it alive? Aito asked herself poking the bush with a nearby stick cautiously.
Two ears poked out of the bush, startling Aito as she jumped back. She missed her step flailing her arms in a spectacular manner before falling into the puddle behind her. Groaning, she lifts herself back up as a tiny cat come out of the bushes, soaked in rain. Aito stared at it for a second before extending her hand towards it awkwardly “Ha ha….hello there.”
The cat hissed, scratching her hand before rushing off into the distance. Aito sat there, blinking in awe as beads of red form and get washed away. She stands up, grabbing her bag and rush after it. As she ran through, Musutafu felt empty and grey with only the sounds of the cat’s paws and Aito causing a stir in the colorless scene. Eventually, they made there way to the city area, the lights dancing against the drops of rain.
“Ahhh, w-wait up kitty!” She called out to the cat who seemed annoyed with his unwanted traveling companion. He huffed running off even faster than before. Aito sighed before continuing her fruitless and meaningless chase. Ahh, he’s too fast afterall….she thought melancholically, giving up and sitting at a nearby bench. After taking a minute to catch her breath, she decided to just head home.
BOOM! CRACK! Aito jumped startled as a bright light flashed through the scene. She turned her eyes towards the scene, staring at it with wide eyes and panic. There stood a girl with ashen grey hair, standing on top of the building’s edge, her eyes glazed with a sense of regret and pain. Aito’s heart jumped, her legs trembling. BOOM! CRACK!
The lightning flashed and the girl jumped, tumbling through the air like a ragdoll. Aito’s heart pounded like a beating drum as she ran through the streets towards the nearby buildings, slipping on one of the puddles, but catching herself in her haste. I need something ...something...something….something....She held her hand out, barely out of reach to catch her. Please...just a little farther….
Ffffllooooonnn A familiar object ejected out of Aito’s hand, blowing up like a balloon under the girl with the ashen grey hair. The bubble was strange though, well stranger than normal anyway. It was big, big enough to catch someone. Aito blinked as the bubble sticked to the ground and the girl fell onto it. A quiet pop brought her safely to the ground and the bubble dispersed. The airheaded girl stared at her hand, opening and closing it.
Aito looked over at the girl who was asleep on the ground. She’s alive….With a sigh of relief, she let her knees give way, hitting the ground with a soft thud.

Since that day, Chiyo had become one of her best friends and confidents. Chiyo told Aito she could become a hero and Aito held those words dears throughout her training and studying. Not matter what, she was going to be come a hero now. Everyone who doubted her. Everyone who told her off. All of them will have to eat her dust when she becomes a hero. On the day of the entrance exams, no one knew what she was going to do or expect...
But she pulled through; acing the Japanese Literature and Written portions of the exams and getting 35 rescue points in the pratical exam. All of her training paid off and she was able to enter 1-B with a bright smile on her face and a new found confidence she didn't have before. Taking a page out of Keiara's book and trying to reinvent herself, she went out of her way to make friends; become part of other people's worlds. It was here that she met Kijuro, Lumia, Shiryo, and so many more friends that she holds dear. For a long while, live was fun for her again...and she wasn't alone.
But happiness was a ticking time bomb and eventually everything had to explode in her face. People drifted away. Emotions became bare. Lumia, someone who had quickly became one of her most trusted friends and partners at school got kidnapped and lost her memories. Everything was fine. They could try to fix that...but then Chiyo went missing. Blood covering her apartment and no trace of her being left. Although it wasn't confirmed, Aito was sure that the person who told her she could become a hero again was dead...there was no other way she could think of.
Then during one particularly stressful headcount...Lumia had left the school...and got expelled....Aito isn't sure where her friend is now, but she hopes that she's okay...but this hurt her more than she could possibly explain in words. Mixed in tandem with finding Yunari (Lumia's bestfriend) almost dead on the way to the convenience store...something in her broke.
The barely held together threads that kept her up finally snapped...she decided that not being fine is okay though, so she'll keep going on pretending nothing is wrong.

Bubble: Your normal average harmless bubble. It doesn't take much energy or water for Aito to create, but it is also completely useless. On the bright side, when light shines through it, rainbows paint the ground. It's very very pretty, but other than being pretty it really doesn't do anything else.
