In her daily life, Miyako wears an over-sized shirt with orange sleeves and her hair down. Since she is prone to falling asleep at random, she tries to keep her clothes comfortable so she is prepared at any moment to sleep.
When she is working however, she prefers to wear a simple white outfit with black trimmings and a pink bow located on the lower back, reminiscent of a kimono and her hair tied up with black bows.

Miyako is very expressive in her face and actions. Everything she can't tell you with words, she makes up for in physical expressions and talkative hand movements. She knows JSL and is always carrying a detective notebook- though for communication since she finds that not everyone knows JSL to talk.
Despite her seemingly endless memory on things, Miyako is bad at focusing on what's in front of her. Whether that'd be math, a memory puzzle, or even something as simple as staring at a dot, Miyako finds herself unable to do it unless she is asleep instead and trying again in her memory
Because her memory before she goes to sleep tends to be hazy, she tends to be seen as forgetful and not paying attention among other things. If she has to do something important with long instructions, Miyako will learn the instructions then take a quick nap, just to avoid losing them later while her memory is still processing. However, after processing everything, she can bring it back up with a perfect recall.
Although she rarely retains the needed information while awake, Miyako has an endless curiosity that she follows seemingly on whatever wind the world will take her; asking more questions that she usually regrets in post when she realizes how wrong she is. Because of her quirk, people have claimed she has relied on it to be a good detective instead of being able to figure it out herself. They aren't wrong, but Miyako hopes to one day solve a mystery without using her quirk. When she can't figure it out, however, she gets frustrated easily often even when she is asleep and she feels like what she's looking at is obvious.
When her quirk is activated, Miyako's personality (Though never seen to anyone other than herself) is more methodical and careful, picking through the crime scenes and different sounds like a fine tooth comb. It's also here that she is able to ask the more serious questions that she avoids in the waking-world; Usually, things that she can confirm and back up with evidence if she searches through her memory and then relays later to her partner once she wakes up.
Even with her endlessly outgoing nature, Miyako is bad with animals. In fact, she is scared of most of them. From harmless rats to giant wild cats and even harmless hooven wildlife, Miyako gets spooked just at the sight of them. The only animal she isn't bad at handling is dogs. After years of working with the K9 units to find someone; she has become mostly used to them...at least enough to not freak out on sight. Her detective agency has her go to the K9 Unit's kennels after work to try and get over her fear though it has been an uphill battle that she dreads to watch back once she goes to bed.
Though still she is afraid of animals and she can't speak, Miyako loves watching things move and chatting with different people. Although she enjoys every bit of nonsensical conversations, she also enjoys the more serious and pressing conversations that she can only get with someone who has seen a lot of the world and has wisdom to share. Often times, her eyes will track people or other objects around the room; as though following them without really following them.
Since her hatred for focus orientated activities is well known to her colleagues and playmates, it surprises many of them to know that she actually loves reading. Maybe it's from an unseen guilt that she doesn't take about or the fact that she can just glance over each page and read it later in the sleeping-world. Either or, she loves them. As stated before, Miyako usually glances through a book then rereads it as she sleeps. Often times, she says it's her subsBreakute to an actual dream.
Of course, as a detective, she is in constant search of the truth. Whether or not that truth is pretty or not, she will always search for it...even if she doesn't always like what she hears. On the flip side, she also hates liars because she can't believe that anyone would omit something like the truth when it's so important to something like a case or even sometimes; someone's life. However, she has no way of telling if someone is lying, so she accepts your answer no matter what at face value.
And finally, Miyako has a deep-rooted guilt complex that she carries with her no matter where she is. Due to a case that she feels she could've prevented, Miyako will apologize frequently if the person she's talking with gets mad, trips in any way, or starts to get confused- whether or not Miyako is actually the cause of any of it. She truly believes sometimes that if something happened or if somehow her actions made someone act the way they do, she will apologize without a second's notice. Because of this guilt-complex, Miyako tends to be very fidgety. Playing with her hands, drumming her fingers on desks, tapping her feet in a rhythmic way, she does it all along with own nervous ticks like rubbing the side of her pointer finger with her thumb and scratching at her fingers. To hide all of her fidget habits, Miyako literally and figuratively talks with her hands in the hope no one will notice.
HISTORY
Before Miyako was even born, her parents were somewhat of a high school drama waiting to happen. Two people meeting by chance in the hallways, both from seemingly different cliques at school completely falling in love in that sort of Romeo and Juliet way.
They were engaged, then married, then settled down in a worn-down apartment. Times were tough on the family and they were struggling to make ends meet, but they decided that they would work through it somehow in their usual fairytale esque style.
Ever since she was born, Miyako's parents knew there was something different about her. For one, she never made a sound; not when crying did she make any noise. Furthermore, whenever she'd sleep, Miyako seemed to pick up something new that she didn't know before the nap. With such a bizarre kid, they were sure they'd never know the answer.
It was only when she was four and all her classmates were slowly manifesting their quirk that her bizarre nature continued. In classes, she excelled with a strange precision with anything that involved any level of memorization and then, even more, she seemed to memorize the class faster than even the teachers could. Through her silence, she was bombastic and out there, making quick friends with whoever she met.
Finally after another year of being left in the dark, Miyako's quirk revealed itself and immediately she was scouted by many different detective forces that wished to use her quirk to store needed information and documents without worry along with someone who could pick apart crime scenes far past what everyone else could do in the time allotted to them.
Her parents didn't want to give up their daughter, but after struggling for so long and being unable to support themselves financially, an agency finally offered a deal that they just couldn't refuse. Miyako hasn't seen her parents since she left them, but she still hopes that they're doing alright with the money she sends them.
At school, she was making friends like she always was; never missing any person on the playground when one day, she met a quiet girl by the name of Tsubame. They didn't do much talking, Miyako finding it hard to carry a conversation without a voice and Tsubame being much more content reading than talking to the girl who was excitably waving her hands to "talk" to her.
Eventually, Miyako gave up trying to get to know her....then the case came in.
The streets light flicker slightly; it's warm glow filling the air and illuminating the night around them. Tap tap tap, Tsubame ran through the streets, stumbling as she tried to move faster than ever capable at her size. Tap tap tap faster faster as the calm and collected gwuf gwuf gwuf followed after calmly. Miyako and the detective she worked with were just coming back from a previous case. Tap tap tap, the two young girls met eyes for a second...a vision of pure terror as she hid panicked behind the giant gruff detective.
The dad explained that Tsubame was just scared that she was in trouble after he came home and found out that her room was still a mess...so the detective let them go. Miyako looked straight at Tsubame's eyes. The look of fear and terror engraved in her memory. She didn't stop them.
2 days later, the detective agency gets a call. Along with the usual detective she is usually partnered with, they were sent to the scene of a crime.
Blood splatter the walls...a sick blanket of sticky red matter dripping from the sides and falling onto the floor. Drip Drip Drip....She's laying there. The familiar figure of her classmate was LAYING there...not moving. Her head dropped to the side, neatly positioned next to the headless body.
I'm sorry....
In the presence of the girl, she didn't save.
In the act she let someone pull despite her seeing the terror.
In the fear that she never gave this girl the chance to tell her about this.
Miyako was never the same.

QUIRK AND ABILITIES
QUIRK NAME: Somni-Sleuth
QUIRK TYPE: Mutation
QUIRK RANK: Novice
QUIRK TIER: Bronze
QUIRK DESCRIPTION: When the user falls asleep, instead of experiencing a dream that is vaguely reminiscent of their past day, they will be set in a white room where they can watch and re-watch their day and its surroundings with perfect accuracy. There, they can find things they wouldn't otherwise find and replay sounds they would otherwise not be able to rehear. The time in her dream-like state is much faster than the time it takes in the real world, similarly to how when she sleeps. Once she wakes up, she is able to relay the information with perfect memory.
QUIRK DRAWBACKS: While she can pause and replay things and even go back in her memories, she has to watch all of it or she will not wake up from her slumber. If she has seen anything traumatic in the past day or she has any regrets that might have happened, she HAS to watch it no matter if she wants to or not. Also, before the moment of her processing this information, she is completely incapable of pulling out the new information. Even if it was just one minute before, her memory will be completely hazy on the subject until she can go to sleep and permanently keep the thought in her memory.
Due to previous overuse of her quirk, she finds herself falling asleep at random, her brain in a way trying to process the information as soon as she gets it. Because of this she seems to be awake one moment only to be asleep the next seemingly on a whim that she can't control; similarly to narcolepsy.
Although it is needless to say, she can only access this ability when she's asleep. She can't replay the thought in her mind and then recount it like that. She HAS to be asleep for the memories to permanently be implanted in her brain and even then; the more she sleeps, the more likely she is to become more and more tired that rest cannot physically fix. Also, once she's asleep, she cannot physically be waken up until she has gone through her entire day.
Though not a drawback per-say, when Miyako is asleep, she can never dream. Other than re-watching her memories back, she cannot have a dream like a normal person would. Though she is devoid of nightmares, she is also devoid of the nonsensical type that most are excited about when they dream. Whenever she is in a conversation needing to discuss then, Miyako will usually get jealous.
OTHER ABILITIES: Stealth (Bronze, Beginner): The art of hiding and remaining unseen whether in plain sight or in the darkness is something important to someone who's quirk relies on sleeping randomly throughout the day. How well or not she's hiding however is highly up for debate.
